A letter in the Radio Times pointed out that a recent article in the magazine contained an error. This turned out to be because the interview had taken place in a noisy restaurant and, during transcription, a word was misheard.
It is important to try to carry out interviews in a room or area without background noise. Apart from reducing the risk of introducing an error, it makes life a lot easier for the typist who is not struggling to hear the recording, and the transcription process is a lot quicker.
Look out for more transcription tips in a forthcoming update to the website.
