"Champing at the bit" should be "Chomping at the bit"

"A mute point" should be "A moot point"

"One foul swoop" should be "One fell swoop"

"All that glitters is not gold" should be "All that glisters is not gold"

"Adverse to" should be "Averse to"

"Batting down the hatches" should be "Batten down the hatches"

"Find a penny, pick it up" should be "Find a pin, pick it up"

"Off one's own back" should be "Off one's own bat"
